abstract | PURPOSE:To obtain a smooth surface shape without cracks or contraction voids by including a core material with a hollow section inside a reaction injection molded product molded by means of ring opening polymerization of reactive stock liquid including a norbornane monomer. CONSTITUTION:A plate-shaped core material 2 and a core material 3 are overlapped and disposed in molds 4 and 5, and reaction injection molding is carried out in its cavity 6. Rib structures are formed in the core materials 2 and 3 by means of plastic corrugated boards, and hollow sections 1 are formed between said structures, while the core materials 2 and 3 are connected together firmly by through-holes 7 and 8 in case reactive stock liquid gets solidified. When the reactive stock liquid is fed into the cavity 6, a norbornane monomer included in the reactive raw liquid generates lumpy polymerization reaction and cured. At that time, a norbornane monomer ring opening polymer is adhered well with the inner surface of the cavity 6 as the hollow sections of core materials 2 and 3 are thermally expanded by the heat at the time of polymerization, and a reaction injection molded product 10 with the smooth outer surface of given shape can be molded without generating cracks and contraction voids inside. |
