abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition by combining a compound such as a lodging reducing agent exhibiting plant growth regulating action against various plants by foliar treatment with a foliar and soil-treating agent such as α-cyclopropyl-α-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-pyrimidinemethanol. n CONSTITUTION: The objective plant-growth regulating composition contains a compound of formula I [A is H or methyl; R is OH, alkoxy, alkoxyalkoxy, mono- or dialkylamino or -O-Cat (Cat is organic or inorganic cation)] (e.g. the compound of formula II) and α-cyclopropyl-α-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5- pyrimidinemethanol or α- isopropyl-α- (4-trifluoromethoxyphenyl) -5- pyrimidinemethanol.
