titleOfInvention | Reducible compound which provides leuco dye, analytical composition containing the same, element, and method of use |
abstract | PURPOSE: To provide a reducible compound having a specific structure, that can be effectively used in the verification of a living cell, enzyme, or the like that can emit a leuco dye by reducing the compound. n CONSTITUTION: This reducible compound is represented by the formula: CAR-R 1 . In the formula, CAR- has a quinone structure represented by formula I, and R 1 is a group represented by formula II. In formulae I and II, R 2 and R 4 are independently hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, aryl group, or electron withdrawing group; R 5 is a methylene group; R 3 is the same as the group represented by -R 5 -R 1 , or hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, aryl group, or electron with drawing group, or R 3 and R 4 together represent the atoms required to complete a condensed carbon ring; R 6 is an aryl group; R 7 is a substitutional aryl group, anilino group, naphthylimino group, or active methylene group; or R 6 and R 7 represent the carbon and hereto atoms which, together with nitrogen atoms to which they bond, produce a leuco dye after the release of R 1 from the quinone nucleus and decarboxylation. As the reducible compound, e.g. a compound of formula III is mentioned. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO |
