titleOfInvention Carrier for dry process two-component developer
abstract PURPOSE:To stabilize the triboelectrostatic charge of toner and carrier particles and to obtain a visible image which has a high reflected image density and is free from fogging by smoothing the surface of the carrier particles. CONSTITUTION:The average pore size of the carrier core material surface is 1,500 to 30,000Angstrom and the carrier core material is coated with an electrical insulating resin of 0.1 to 5.0wt.% of the weight of the carrier core material. The weight average grain size thereof is 30 to 65mum. The carrier particles to be used preferably have such small sp. gr. and adequate max. magnetization to enable the magnetic brush formed by the particles to be lightly behaved by alternate electric fields and to prevent splashing to the outside. The resin for coating the carrier surface is exemplified by, for example, polytetrafuoroethylene, monochlorotrifluoroethylene polymer, aminoacrylate resin, etc. The image quality is improved in this way and the reproducibility of the reflected image density is obtd.
