titleOfInvention | Monoazo pigment, its manufacture, and its application |
abstract | PURPOSE: To manufacture a specified monoazo pigment containing only a remarkably small amount of PCB by azo-coupling a specified azonium salt with CH- acidic coupling component H-K in an aqueous medium under a specified condition. n CONSTITUTION: When a dichloro- or trichlorobenzol diazonium salt is azo- coupled with a CH-acidic coupling component H-K formed of acetoacetic arylamide or naphthol series in an aqueous medium, they are coupled at a pH value smaller than pH7 and a temperature of 0-50°C with interruption of nitric acid ion under the presence of a coupling assistant or coupling accelerator to provide a monoazo pigment of the formula (K is the residue of a CH-acidic coupling component of acetoacetic aryl amide or naphthol, series; n is 2 or 3). When this pigment is dissolved in conc. sulfuric acid, PCB component is transferred to a non-polar organic solvent followed by analysis by a known method, this pigment contains biphenyl chloride having four or more Cl atoms is contained in an amount of 25μg at the maximum per g thereof. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO |
