titleOfInvention Gas blowing needle with tool port
abstract PURPOSE: To enable to keep expansion of an abdomen by stretching the dull distal end with a side port over the distal end of an outside cannula, and fitting a detachable cap with an opening to the proximal end of the outside cannula. n CONSTITUTION: When the dull end 20 of a rod 16 is pressed to a surface of a skin 64 and a needle is pushed downward strongly against the skin, the rod 16 is drawn in a needle 10 against force of a spring 24. A sharp edge 12 of the needle 10 is naked and pierces the skin 64 and fat 67. Then the needle passes a peritoneum 68 and enters an air chamber 70. As there is no longer the pressure against the dull end 20 of the rod 16, an intestine is protected from the sharp edge of the needle 10. Gas such as carbon dioxide is able to be injected through a conduit 56 to be passed through a conduit 52 and a pass 38. Then gas passes through a central opening 28 in a cap 26 and flows down the rod 16, out from a side opening 22 and in the air chamber. Gas injection by adequate pressure expands a peritoneal cavity to quite degree. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
