titleOfInvention Production of antibiotic
abstract PURPOSE: To efficiently separate vancomycin by bringing vancomycin solution containing impurities into contact with imidazole to produce vancomycin imidazole precipitate and the recovering the precipitate. n CONSTITUTION: A fermentation cultured solution obtained from vancomycin- producing strains of Nocardia orientalis is filtered and the filtrate is collected. The filtrate is brought into contact with a nonfunctional or intermediate polar synthetic polymer resin to absorb vancomycin in the resin and vancomycin is eluted from the resin. Then, the vancomycin is brought into contact with imidazole to precipitate a vancomycin-imidazole complex compound. Vancomycin is recovered from the imidazole complex compound to provide the objective purified vancomycin. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
