PURPOSE: To obtain a local skin treatment composition containing a retinol ester and useful for treating light-aged skin damaged by the irradiation of UV light. n CONSTITUTION: This composition is obtained by mixing at least one kind of retinol ester with a base agent comprising an oil and/or anhydrous alcohol, such as volatile silicone, at a temperature of ≤50°C with stirring and, if necessary, suitably further adding an emulsifier, an antiinflammatory agent, a wetting agent, an antioxidant, etc., to the mixture. The retinol ester includes the 2-16C alkanoyl ester of retinol, such as retinol palmitate. The retinol ester or the mixture of the retinol esters is contained in an amount of 500-15000IUg -1 in the composition, and the preferable base agent is an oil-in-water emulsion base agent containing 20-40wt.% of an oil. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO |
