titleOfInvention Dehydration and pulverization of polymer substance
abstract PURPOSE: To extremely readily dehydrate a large quantity of water and obtain a dry substance by freezing a hydrated gel or hydrated sol of a hydrophilic polymer, then dipping the frozen substance into a hydrophilic organic solvent for defrosting. n CONSTITUTION: A hydrated gel or sol of a hydrophilic polymer substance is frozen and the resultant frozen substance is dipped into a hydrophilic organic solvent for defrosting. The resultant defrosted substance is dried and ground into a powdery hydrophilic polymer substance. The hydrated gel or sol which is the object of the application of the above-mentioned method is composed of 1 pt.wt. hydrophilic polymer substance containing 0.2-(300-500) pts.wt. water. For example, in case of curdlan, gelatin, agar, etc., the range of the application is 10-50 pts.wt. water content based on 1 pts.wt. of the above-mentioned substance. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
