titleOfInvention Stable dandruff-removing shampoo composition
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition composed of a synthetic surfactant, selenium sulfide having a specific average particle diameter, a peroxy oxidizing agent and water and optionally containing a nonionic polymer, a non-volatile silicone, a suspension stabilizer, an amide, etc. CONSTITUTION: This composition contains 10-30% (preferably 18-20%) synthetic surfactant, 0.1-5.0% (preferably 0.6-2.5%) selenium sulfide having an average particle diameter of <=25μm (preferably <=15μm), 0.005-0.9% peroxy oxidizing agent (e.g. H2 O2 or sodium percarbonate) and 20-84% (preferably 60-75%) water. The surfactant is selected from anionic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants, ampholytic surfactants and their mixtures. The composition is prepared by washing selenium sulfide with an aqueous solution of a peroxy oxidizing agent and combining the product with a shampooing component. The composition may be incorporated with arbitrary components such as suspension stabilizer, amide, nonionic polymer, non-volatile silicone liquid, etc.
