abstract PURPOSE: To synthesize the title dispersant having excellent dispersion stability by adding a specified amt. of the ring-opening glycidyl ester of a higher monocarboxylic acid to the hydroxyl group of a specified esterification product, and then introducing an acidic group, etc. n CONSTITUTION: One mol of tris(hydroxyethyl)isocyanate is esterified with 0.5-20mols of a higher monocarboxylic acid contg. hydroxyl groups and 0-2mols of a higher monocarboxylic acid contg. no hydroxyl group. From 0.1 to 1 equivalent, based on one equivalent of the hydroxyl group in the product, of the ring- opening glycidyl ester of a higher monocarboxylic acid is added to the product. An acidic group and/or a basic group is further introduced to synthesize a modified-polyester compd. which is used as the dispersant.
