abstract | PURPOSE: To enhance the performance by simple structure and stable operation by providing an ion pump, a probe, and a capillary tube. n CONSTITUTION: This detector contains an ion pump 1 connected to a probe 3 of glass containing a great quantity of silica and is capable of functioning as a filter permeable only to herium practically. And the probe 3 contains at least one capillary tube 10 made of glass containing a great quantity of silica. And it is sealed at one end, is connected directly on the pump 1, has a surface area 0.1-10cm 2 of glass containing a great quantity of silica, is practically impermeable to herium at the room temperature, and is fitted with a heater which keeps the tube 10 at temperatures of 300-900°C. Besides, it contains a device fro detecting a small increment of the pump current, and a command device for the heater. And it operates reacting the detected current in the pump 1.
