abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a dispersant for slurrying solid fuel by increasing the surface tension of an aqueous solution by a sulfonated aliphatic diene (co)polymer with uniform sulfonic acid content prepared by a specific method. n CONSTITUTION: A dispersant for slurrying solid fuel such as coal or petroleum coke is prepared by sulfonating a polymer, which is obtained by polymerizing an aliphatic diene such as 1,3-butadiene or isoprene, by a complex consisting of anhydrous sulfuric acid and an electron donating compound such as dioxane. This dispersant is based on a sulfonated aliphatic diene (co)polymer wherein sulfonic acid content is 4-5.4μmol/g and the surface tension of an aqueous solution is 50 dyne/cm or more. A solid fuel slurry composition using this dispersant has good slurry dispersibility and shows standing stability, mechanical stability and thermal stability. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
