titleOfInvention Method of regulating polymerization of cyclic polycarbonate
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an oligomer-like carbonate having a predetermined molecular weight by adding a phenol and heating a cyclic carbonate. n CONSTITUTION: (A) A cyclic polycarbonate having 2-30 structural units expressed by formula I (R denotes an aliphatic or aromatic group; Y' denotes O, S) is dissolved in an organic solvent such as N,N-dimethylformamide or the like, (B) a phenol expressed by formula (II) (R' denotes a 6-30C aromatic group; x denotes 1-6) is added to the above solution, preferably by 0.001-1.0mol%, taking the mol number of the structural unit of the component A as reference, and heated at 200-350°C to be reacted with each other to obtain an oligomer-like carbonate with a predetermined molecular weight. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
