NEW MATERIAL: A salt compd. represented by formula I (wherein R is an 18-24C alkyl having at least two double bonds, A is an amino acid present in a living body or its derivative and has a carboxyl substituted by a 1-4C alkyl, amino and an alkali metal cation). n USE: This new material has strong antiviral and immunostimulation action and is useful as a medicine and, for example, effective for suppressing initial infection of acute virus infection, especially, herpesvirus infection. Further, this new material is especially effective for an immunodeficiency syndrome (e.g.; AIDS) induced by an HTLV III virus or an HTLV IV virus. n PROCESS: As a base component, an amino acid is reacted with an acid represented by formula II in a polar solvent. For example, eicosapentaenoic acid is reacted with L-lysine or docosahexaenoic acid is reacted with L-lysine to obtain the compd. represented by the formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO |
