titleOfInvention | Production of polyarylene sulfide |
abstract | PURPOSE: To readily and stably obtain a high molecular weight polyarylene sulfide having a high whiteness in high yield by reacting a dihalogen aromatic compound with an alkaline metal (hydro)sulfide, etc., and metal salt of an ω- hydroxycarboxylic acid in an organic polar solvent. n CONSTITUTION: (B) A dihalogen aromatic compound (preferably p- dichlorobenzene) is mixed and reacted with (C) an alkaline metal sulfide (preferably sodium sulfide) and/or alkaline metal hydrosulfide (preferably sodium hydrosulfide) and (D) a metal salt of an ω-hydroxycarboxylic acid (preferably sodium 4-hydroxybutyrate, etc.) in (A) an organic polar solvent (preferably N-methylpyrrolidone) to stably afford a polyarylene sulfide even if water is present at a relatively high ratio in the reaction system. The amounts of the components based on 1mol total amount of the component (C) are 0.90-1.2mol component (B) and 0.05-1mol component (D). The amount of the component (A) is 0.1-10 times based on the weight of the whole components other than the component (A). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
