abstract PURPOSE: To make it possible to hold a pad for extracorporeal exudation in a prescribed position by applying a coating for preventing lateral slipping consisting of a specific member on the side of the pad facing clothing and having this pad worn. n CONSTITUTION: The hourglass-shaped pad 10 which has an impermeable lining member 13 and generally flat body side surface 12 mated with a cover 12 by adhesive bonding in an edge area 14 has an absorptive material having the thickness larger at the center than ends 20 and 33. The material applied on the lower part surface of the pad 10 is the coating 16 for preventing the lateral slipping. The coating 16 is selected from a group consisting of a vinyl acetate- ethylene copolymer, polyvinyl acetate, styrene-butadiene copolymer, acetyl butyl cellulose, ethyl cellulose, acrylic polymer, thermoplastic synthetic rubber and their mixture. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
