abstract PURPOSE: To make it possible to form the picture of a photosensitive material which has high sensitivity, and is improved the generation of a color mixture due to processing the material and is prevented the processing fluctuation of the material by incorporating a specified nitrogen contg. heterocyclic compd. in the photosensitive material comprising a silver halide emulsion having a high silver chloride content, and by developing the photosensitive material with a specified color developer. n CONSTITUTION: The photosensitive material provides at least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layers contg. a silver halide emulsion having the silver chloride content of ≥80mol.%. the nitrogen contg. heterocyclic ring compd. having the solubility product of silver of ≤10 -10 and ≥10 -18 is incorporated in the photosensitive material. And, the color developer contains a chlorine ion of 3.5×10 -2 -1.5×10 -1 mol./L. and a bromine ion of 30×10 -5 -1.0×10 -3 mol./L. So that, in the color developer, the effect of preventing the development of the photosensitive material and the effect of preventing the dissolution of a silver halide emulsion particle due to the chlorine and the bromine ions and the nitrogen contg. heterocyclic ring compd., are balanced. Thus, the picture of the photosensitive material which has the high sensitivity and a less tendency for generating the color mixture due to the processing and the processing fluctuation of the material, is formed. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
