abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an industrial germicide showing strong activity against harmful microorganisms contaminating industrial products and materials and causing deterioration of qualities comprising a specific azole derivative as an active ingredient. n CONSTITUTION: An industrial germicide containing a compound shown by formula I (X is halogen, 1-5C alkyl, haloalkyl, phenyl, CN or NO 2 ; m is 2-4; n is 0-5; A is N or CH; R 1 and R 2 are H or 1-5C alkyl; R 3 is H or 1-3C alkyl) such as 2-(4-chlorobenzyl)-2,5,5-trimethyl-1-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)-1-cyclopentanol as an active ingredient. Concentration of the compound in the formulation is 0.1-99.9 and the compound is diluted into 0.005-5wt.% preferably 0.01-1wt.% concentration for treatment in use.
