NEW MATERIAL: A compd. represented by formula I (wherein R 1 is butyl, pentyl or hexyl, R 2 is H, OH, or O-arabinose and X is inorg. acid ions, pref., sulfate ions, org. acid ions, pref., acetate ions) and its acid addition salt. n EXAMPLE: Acetic acid pseudo-primycin. n USE: A drug showing excellent antibacterial activity, well dissolved in water and/or an org. solvent and improving the solubility of primycin having marked gelling characteristics. n PROCESS: Pref., a primycin complex represented by formula II obtained from acetic acid primycin produced by fermentation is reacted with a chargeable base substrate such as an ion exchange resin or a non-chargeable compd. such as NaOH, triethylamine or piperazine in a solvent at room temp. (20-22°C) or raised temp. to perform 35-37C translactonization reaction and the reaction product is separated by column chromatography to obtain the compd. represented by the formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO |
