NEW MATERIAL:1-Hydroxy-2,3-dicyanonaphthalene of formula I. n USE: Intermediate for naphthalocyanine-type or condensed polycyclic coloring material. n PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting a compound of formula II (R is alkyl; R' is aryl) with fumaronitrile in a solvent (e.g., ethylene glycol dimethyl ether or dimethyl-formamide) in the presence of a base (e.g., NaH or sodium methoxide) at -78 to +150°C for 1-15hr. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
