titleOfInvention Two phase cement mixture for orthopedics
abstract PURPOSE: To intend to reduce exothermic amount on polymerization and to upgrade strength, by constructing a powder polymer forming solid phase with powder only with spherical form and determining ratio of powder with at most a specific diameter to be in a specific region. n CONSTITUTION: A solid phase has 97% of polymethyl methacrylate for a polymer and 3% of benzoyl peroxide as a catalyst, and a liquid phase has 99.10% of methyl monomethacrylate for a monomer, 0.69% of N-N-dimethyl-p-toluidine for a curing accelerator and about 20 parts/1 million parts (ppm) of hydroquinone as a stabilizer. A necessary amount of said liquid phase for reaction with 40g in one charging amount of the solid phase is 14 milli liter, and the powder polymer constituting the solid powder phase is constructed by only spherical form of powder polymer, and further powder distribution in the powder polymer is in a region of 0.60-2.00% at most 0.90 micron of the powder diameter. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
