abstract | PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain the subject compound from 1,1,1-trichloro-2,2,2- trifluoroethane and hydrogen fluoride in high selectively by using a fluorination catalyst composed of a specific element, such as iron, as a principal component and chrominum-containing oxide. n CONSTITUTION: 1,1,1-Trichloro-2,2,2-trifluoroethane and hydrogen fluoride are reacted preferably in the vapor phase in the presence of a fluorination catalyst composed of one or more elements selected from Fe, Ni, Co and Mn as a principal component and a Cr-containing oxide or one or more elements selected from alkali metals and alkaline earth metals and the Cr-containing oxide at 200 to 550°C temperature under ordinary or higher pressure to afford the subject compound useful as a refrigerant, foaming agent, etc., in a selectivity as high as ≥95% without impairing durability of the catalyst with a suppressed formation of 1-chloro-1,1,2,2,2-pentafluoroethane as a by-product. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
