titleOfInvention Synthetic leather and production thereof
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a synthetic leather flexible and excellent in moisture permeability, etc., like natural leather by laminating a polyurethane porous layer-laminated base surface with a medium skin layer and a surface skin layer each consisting of a watersoluble natural polymer powder contg, polyurethane resin followed by removing water- soluble polymer. n CONSTITUTION: Firstly, a base material laminated with a porous layer 3 is prepared by coating a base material 2 of knitted fabric or nonwoven fabric consisting of nylon or polyester etc., with a polyurethane elastomer followed by wet coagulation. Second, for example, a release paper is coated with a water soluble natural polymer powder- contg. surface skin layer-forming polyurethane resin followed by drying to form a surface skin layer-forming resin layer followed by forming, likewise, a medium skin layer-forming resin layer consisting of polymer-contg. polyurethane thereon. Third, the resulting layers are put to hot lamination on the surface having the above- mentioned porous layer 3 followed by peeling the release paper off and then removing polymer in water to effect laminated integration of both the porous medium skin layer 4 and surface skin layer 5, thus obtaining the objective flexible synthetic leather 1 excellent in moisture- and air-permeability and drape nature like natural leather. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
