titleOfInvention Preparation of high melting point polymorphic form of terfenadine
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare the high melting point polymorphic form of terfenadine by dissolving terfenadine in acetone, diluting this solution with water and recovering the crystallized product. n CONSTITUTION: Terfenadine is dissolved in acetone to obtain an acetone solution. Then, the solution is diluted with water. Then, the crystallized product is recovered to obtain the high melting point polymorphic terfenadine which dissolves at approximately 149 to 151°C. Especially, the v/v ratio of terfenadine to water is, preferably, 0.25:1 to 1:1. Also, the w/v ratio of terfenadine to acetone is, preferably, 80 to 200 g/l. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
