titleOfInvention Amide derivative and external preparation for skin containing the same
abstract NEW MATERIAL:The amide derivative of formula I (R 1 and R 2 are straight or branched-chain saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group; one of R 1 and R 2 is 26-39C group and the other is 9-39C group). n EXAMPLE: N-(2-hydroxy-3-hexadecyloxypropyl)-N-2-hydroxyethyl-triacontanamide. n USE: Useful as an external preparation for skin. Application of the compound to the skin reinforces the lipid membrane between corneous cells and improves the barrierness of the corneal layer. It can be used as an external drug prepara tion for skin or as a cosmetic. It does not cause inflammation and roughening of the skin. n PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be produced from a compound of formula II derived from glycidyl ether and ethanolamine, according to the reaction formula, by reacting the compound of formula II with a fatty acid lower alkyl ester in the presence of a basic catalyst and carrying out the reac tion while distilling out the produced alcohol from the system. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
