titleOfInvention Pressure sensor
abstract PURPOSE: To make it possible to provide a sensor which is resistant to tempera ture change, suitable for surface pressure, gage pressure, hydrostatic pressure and absolute pressure and has a broad dynamic range by using polyaniline for a sensor. n CONSTITUTION: Polyaniline with a thickness of 115 μm is pressed with a pressure of 200 kg/cm 2 under the dry state and cut into the size of 1 mm in width and 6 mm in length. Gold is deposited on four points by evaporation for four- terminal method. Terminals are led out by using gold wires (b) and gold paste. Currents of 20 μA and 50 μA are made to flow through the terminals at both ends in order to remove the effect of thermal electromotive force. The potential difference between inner two terminals is measured. The resistance is obtained from the inclination of the potential difference. In this pressure sensor, conductivity is linearly changed by 250% for the pressure up to 7,000 kg f/cm 2 at 680 ωunder the normal pressure. The change is reversible. In this way, hydrostatic pressure is detected within a broad pressure range of 0 - 7,000 kg f/cm 2 . The change in conductivity reaches 250%. This method can be applied to the detection of surface pressure and gage pressure. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
