abstract | PURPOSE: To reduce a frictional force that inhibits the mobility of a component element to achieve reliable sealing by forming, after assembling the component element, a seal within a sealing space by use of a sealing member made of a hardenable sealing compound. n CONSTITUTION: A component element 2 has a bearing clearance 13 in an area penetrating a housing 1. A seal 4 is placed within a seal space 14 and comprises a support member 15 serving as an O-ring and a sealing member 16. The member 15 is brought into contact with the element 2 without large radial prestress. During assembly the member 15 is loosely pressed against the element 2 and then the member 16 is formed by injection of, e.g. a silicon sealing compound. Thereby the sealing member compensating all of pressures and the like against the element 2 can be obtained by a good sealing method with no radial force. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO |
