abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain enough recording sensitivity on recording at high rotating speed with a small and low-output semiconductor laser by forming such a recording film on a substrate that this recording film is composed of a layer containing tin and selenium and two layers of passive state metal or its oxide formed adjacent to both sides of the tin-selenium-containing layer. n CONSTITUTION: The recording film 3 formed on the substrate has such a structure that is composed of a layer containing tin and selenium and two layers of passive state metal or its oxide formed adjacent to both sides of the tin- selenium-containing layer. A thin film 2 comprising phthalocyanine compd. with >80% light transmittance for 770 - 850 nm wavelength is provided between the recording film 3 and the substrate 1. Thereby, the recording sensitivity can be significantly enhanced without influencing other properties.
