titleOfInvention Catalyst and catalyst precursor containing vanadium and antimony
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a precursor for producing a catalyst having adequate hardness and wear resistance by reacting monoperoxy vanadium ions in an aq. soln. state with an Sb 3+ -contg. antimony compd. n CONSTITUTION: The monoperoxy vanadium ions VO(O 2 ) + in the aq. soln. state is reacted with the antimony compd. having Sb 3+ , such as antimony oxide. The average valence of the vanadium is then reduced to <5 and the antimony is oxidized to Sb 5+ . As a result, the catalyst precursor having the vanadium of the Sb:V atom ratio within a range of 0.8 to 4 and the catalyst precursor having antimony in the form of an oxide is produced. When the precursor is fired after drying, the catalyst having the good hardness and wear resistance is produced. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
