titleOfInvention Production of ascorbic acid-2-phosphonate and production of potassium magnesium l-ascorbate-2-phosphatem k1+-0.3 mg1+-0.15-l-ascorbate-2-phosphate and 5,6-isopropylidene-ascorbic acid
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compd. in an industrially advantageous manner by reacting ascorbic acid with POCl 3 in the presence of a tertiary amine and applying specific treatment to the reaction mixture to simply remove free phosphoric acid and phosphate in the reaction mixture. n CONSTITUTION: At first, an ascorbic acid deriv. having an atomic group represented by formula I (wherein R 1 and R 2 are each H or combined together to form groups represented by formulae II, III) is reacted with POCl 3 in the presence of a tertiary amine in an aq. solvent at -10 to 25°C while KOH is added during the entire phosphorylation reaction to hold pH to 8-13.5. Subsequently, a stoichiometric amt. of an Mg compd. is directly added to the reaction mixture without preliminarily performing ion exchange treatment until the formation of crystalline KMgPO 4 is completed at a pH of 7 in order to separate excessive inorg. phosphate. Finally, crystallized KMgPO 4 is separated from the reaction mixture and the objective compd. is isolated from the filtrate. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
