NEW MATERIAL: A compd. represented by formula I (wherein X is CR 6 or N, Y is O, S, NR 16 or a single bond, R 1 is groups represented by formulae II, III, IV, R 2 is CH or -CH=N-OR 12 , R 3 is an alkyl or an alkenyl, R 4 , R 5 and R 16 are same to R 3 or H, R 6 is an alkyl or a cycloalkenyl, R 7 is an aryl or an alkyl, R 8 and R 9 are each amino or an alkoxy, R 10 is an alkoxy or an alkenyloxy, R 12 is H or an alkyl and Z is O or S). n EXAMPLE: 2-Cyano-4-(4-chlorobenzoyloxymethyl)-1-(dimethylsulfamoyl)imidazole. n USE: This new material is useful as a sterilizing agent and especially effective for fungal diseases of plants, for example, grate downy mildew or tomato lemic. n PROCESS: For example, a compd. represented by formula V is acylated by a compd. represented by formula VI (Q is a removable group, especially a halogen) to obtain the compd. represented by formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO |
