titleOfInvention | Production of l-threonine by fermentation method |
abstract | PURPOSE: To enhance fermentation yield, reduce production cost and obtain the subject threonine useful as a feed, etc., by culturing a specific variant strain belonging to the genus Brevibacterium in a liquid culture medium and collecting the threonine in the culture solution. n CONSTITUTION: A variant strain, belonging to the genus Brevibacterium and having low sensitivity to L-methionine produced by both or either of homoserine dehydrogenase and homoserine kinase thereof and the ability to produce L- threonine is cultured in a liquid culture medium to produce and accumulate the threonine in the culture solution. The resultant threonine is then collected. Furthermore, the above-mentioned variant strain is preferably obtained by, e.g. subjecting Brevibacterium flavum ATCC 14067, etc., to variational operation, such as irradiation with ultraviolet rays. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
