titleOfInvention | Polyamide-imide elastomer and its production |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the title elastomer excellent in flexibility, transparency, heat resistance and mold release and having high mechanical strengths by polym erizing a specified polyamideimidedicarboxylic acid with a glycol under specified conditions, distilling off unreacted matter and post-polymerizing the product. n CONSTITUTION: A polyamideimidedicarboxylic acid (A) of a number-average mol.wt. of 400-3000 is formed from at least either a 10C or higher lactam or an aminocarboxylic acid or a mixture (a) thereof with at most 4 pts.wt. as much caprolactam and at least one member (b) selected from among a polyamide-imide dicarboxylic acid of a number-average mol.wt. of 400-3000 and an anhydride thereof. A mixture of this acid with at least one glycol selected from a polyoxyalkylene glycol of a number-average mol.wt. of 500-4000 and an α,ω-dihydroxyhydrocarbon in a ratio of 10:90-65:35, is polymerized at 150-300°C while keeping the water content of the reaction system at 0.1-1.0wt.%. After unreacted starting material is distilled off from the reaction system, port- polymerization is conducted at 200-300°C to give the desired elastomer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
