titleOfInvention Production of optically active compound using vinyl fatty acid
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a high-purity optically active compound from a racemic modification of secondary alcohol by one-stage reaction extremely rapidly and efficiently by subjecting the racemic modification of secondary alcohol to ester exchange with a specific vinyl fatty acid in the presence of lipase. n CONSTITUTION: A racemic modification of secondary alcohol and 5-13C vinyl fatty acid (preferably vinyl caproate or vinyl laurate) are subjected to ester exchange so that the racemic modification is resolved into an optically active secondary alcohol and an ester derivative thereof. The ester derivative is preferably converted into an antipode of the optically active secondary alcohol by hydrolysis with an acid, reduction, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
