titleOfInvention Mouthwash liquid
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a mouthwash liquid, containing an extract of a peony and citric acids, excellent in deodorizing effects and discoloration resistance and having halitosis inhibitory effects. n CONSTITUTION: A mouthwash liquid obtained by containing an extract of a peony (e.g. called Chinese peony, red peony, white peony or half-dried peony) and citric acid and/or sodium citrate. A dried substance of a dried whole peony herb, preferably a dried shredded root is used to afford the extract. The extraction is carried out by using a solvent (e.g. water, acetone, ethyl acetate, methanol or ethanol). Properties of the peony extract in blending in the mouthwash liquid may be a solvent extract or a pasty substance prepared by further vacuum drying the above-mentioned extract. The amount of the blended extract is within the range of about 0.001-8wt.%, especially about 0.003-1.5wt.%. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
