abstract | PURPOSE: To raise the opening factor of electric discharge cells and obtain the luminescence having the high luminance by forming anodes and cathodes on the surface of a back glass plate, and not forming any electrode on the surface of a front glass plate. n CONSTITUTION: Anodes 9 are formed in parallel with each other with the predetermined space on the surface of a back glass plate 2 facing to the surface of a front glass plate 1. An insulating film 10 is provided so as to cover over the surface of the back glass plate 2 and the anodes 9, and electric discharge electrodes 9a are formed so as to project from a part of the anodes 9 to the over of the insulating film 10. The predetermined gas such as xenon at the predetermined pressure is sealed in an electric discharging space formed by the front glass plate 1 and the back glass plate 2, and when the predetermined voltage is applied between cathodes 11 and the anodes 9, the plasma electric discharge is generated, and fluorescent materials 13 are excited to generate the visible radiation. The opening factor of the electric discharge cells is thereby raised, and a DC-type plasma display having the even and fine luminous form can be obtained. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
