abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition with high green strength and excellent in the shape retentivity when extruded, by melt kneading an ethylene-α- olefin-diene copolymer rubber, thermoplastic polyester resin and coupling agent followed by extrusion. n CONSTITUTION: A melt kneading of (A) an ethylene-α-olefin-diene copolymer rubber, (B) a thermoplastic polyester and (C) a coupling agent (pref. silane coupling agent, titanate-based coupling agent or unsaturated carboxylic acid) is made at temperatures not lower than the melting point of the above thermoplastic polyester resin followed by carrying out extrusion, thus obtaining the objective composition. For the present composition, 2 to 150 pts.wt. of the thermoplastic polyester resin is granularly dispersed in 100 pts.wt. of the ethylene-α-olefin-diene copolymer rubber and said rubber, and resin are grafted through 0.2 to 5 pts.wt. of the coupling agent. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
