titleOfInvention | Pneumatic tube for application of radiation |
abstract | PURPOSE: To endure a high dose irradiation or to avoid a change in quality by using a polyethylene 2,6-naphthalene-dicarboxylate (PEN-2,6), as a material, which has an ultimate viscosity of 0.45 to 0.90 and a specific density. n CONSTITUTION: A base polymer used for a shape forming is a polymer which has an ultimate viscosity number of 0.50 or larger, measured in a mixed solvent of a tetrachloroethane/phenol [6/4 (weight ratio)] at 35°C. A PEN-2,6 which consists of the polymer is molten at 280 to 300°C and is injected into a metal mold to form a shape at a density of less than 1.345g/cm 3 after being cooled and solidified. By this procedure, the material is less detriorative and endures a high dose radiation irradiation and also can be used in a rang from a low temperature to a high temperature of 100°C or so. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
