titleOfInvention Microcapsule containing hydrophobic liquid core
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the subject microcapsules that can give clothes increased freshness on the washing and rinsing steps by combining the perfume or fragrance-containing microcapsules that are prepared by the coacervation process using gelatin and polyanionic material with a softening agent. CONSTITUTION: Gelatin, a polyanionic material, perfume or the like are formulated, emulsified, and coacervation is attained by adjusting the pH of the mixture. Then, glutaraldehyde is added to crosslink the coacervate to form cores having a diameter of 5 microns and aroma-including microcapsules including a number of particles having the wall of 5 micron particle size. A fabric-softening composition including this perfume-containing microcapsules and a cationic softening agent is applied to the clothes at the stage of rising in the washing to give increased freshness caused by the perfume to the washed clothes. In a preferred embodiment, the polyanionic material is selected from polyphosphate salts, alginate salts, and particularly gum Arabic is preferred.
