abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an electrically conductive coating material capable of imparting excellent recording properties and physical properties of films to electrostatic recording units by copolymerizing a specific amino group-containing radically polymerization vinyl monomer with other copolymerizable monomers and quaternizing the amino groups in the side chain with an acid. n CONSTITUTION: The objective coating material composed of a cationic copolymer emulsion which is a copolymer of (A) 3-75wt.% amino group-containing radically polymerizable vinyl monomer expressed by the formula (R 1 is H or CH 3 ; X is O or NH; R 2 and R 3 are 1-4C alkyl; n is 2-5) and (B) 25-97wt.% vinyl monomer copolymerizable with the component (A) and prepared by converting amino groups in the side chain of the component (A) in the copolymer into a quaternary salt with an acid. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
