titleOfInvention Thermoplastic elastomeric block copolymer
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a thermoplastic elastomeric block copolymer which has a good processibility and is used for an adhesive, etc., by completely hydrogenating a block polymer having elastomeric polymer blocks and polybutadiene blocks having a specified 1,2-bond content. n CONSTITUTION: The objective block copolymer represented by the formula: BDB' [B and B' are each a polyethylene block having an m.p. (by differential scanning calorimetry) of 110°C or higher; and D is a linear elastomeric polymer block] or by the formula: (B"E) n X (B" is the same kind as B; E is the same kind as D; X is a residue derived from a terminal coupling agent; and n≥2) is obtd. by polymerizing 1,3-butadiene, isoprene, and 1,3-butadiene successively in the presence of a catalyst comprising barium ethoxide, triethylaluminum, and n-butyllithium in a solvent (e.g. cyclohexane), coupling the resultant block copolymer with a coupling agent if necessary, and hydrogenating this copolymer completely in the presence of a Ni catalyst, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
