titleOfInvention Emulsion composition for paper coating
abstract PURPOSE: To improve the resistance to blistering, rigidity, reproducibility of half tone dots, and adhesive strength by mixing a specific organosilicon compd. into a polymer emulsion. n CONSTITUTION: A polymer emulsion with a solid content of 40 to 65wt.% and a particle diameter of 0.05 to 1μm, obtd. by the emulsion polymn. of a polymerizable monomer (e.g. styrene) in the presence of an emulsifier, a polymn. initiator, and if necessary, an MW adjusting agent, a chelating agent, a pH adjusting agent, etc., is mixed with 0.01 to 20wt.% (based on solid content) organosilicone compd. contg. a group of the formula [wherein R and R' are each H or 1 to 7C (alkoxy)alkyl], and is then mixed with the pH adjusting agent (e.g. KOH) to adjust the pH to 7.5 or lower. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
