titleOfInvention Hydrogen gas sensor
abstract PURPOSE: To shorten the time required in the regeneration process of the function of a sensor by integrally incorporating a temp. control means heating a hydrogen occluding alloy film for detecting hydrogen gas and cooling the sensor itself along with the sensor. n CONSTITUTION: A strain element film 2 changing in its electric resistance by stress is applied and formed on one surface of an insulating substrate 1 in a meandering state and a hydrogen occluding alloy film 3 is applied to the other entire surface of the substrate 1. A heater 4 is provided in the periphery of the film 2 and a temp. sensor 5 is provided in close vicinity to said heater 4 and heat-resistant paint is applied to the entire upper surfaces of all of the film 2, the heater 4 and the sensor 5 to form a surface protective layer 6. An electronic cooling element 7 generating cooling and heating phenomena by a current is formed on the upper surface of said protective layer 6. Therefore, the heating or cooling mechanism is integrally incorporated along with the sensor 5 to enhance the heat conductivity to the film 3 and the time required in the regeneration process of sensor function discharging the hydrogen absorbed by the film 3 by heating to return the sensor to hydrogen detection temp. can be shortened. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
