abstract PURPOSE: To enable a toy made of water absorbing polymer to expand after absorbing water to expand and come out of a cracked ceramic shell in the same manner as an egg existing in the nature by putting said toy in an oval ceramic container to expand the toy after it absorbs water so that said container is cracked from the interior by the expansion pressure. n CONSTITUTION: 30wt.% water is added to lime for preparing a precision mold, and the mixture (a) is poured into a halved shell type of a oval mold frame 9 having a 30mm diameter opening. Then, a male punch 10 adjusted to provide 0.2mm of wall thickness is pressed from above, left stably in a room temperature room for two hours, removed from the mold frame to provide halved oval shells 1, 2 made of calcium sulfate. Resin b absorbing water to expand is put into one 2 of obtained upper and lower halved shells. The end faces 5 of the halved shells 1, 2 are temporarily connected to each other by the use of instant adhesives 4 commercially available. Further, a same material 7 as that used in preparing the shells is prepared separately and applied on the connection of shells along the connecting line 6 with a brush 3, left stably in the room temperature room for one hour and shaved off on irregularities of the connection with a sand paper to finish a toy. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
