titleOfInvention Preparation of o/w type emulsion
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a low viscosity stable O/W type emulsion by adding an acid and/or a salt to an aqueous solution of a water-soluble high-molecular substance to prepare a viscous solution and adding this viscous solution to an oil phase to prepare a conc. emulsion and further diluting said emulsion with water. n CONSTITUTION: An acid such as hydrochloric acid or acetic acid and/or a salt such as sodium chloride or potassium chloride are added to an aqueous solution of a high-molecular substance such as xanthane gum or carrageenan to prepare a viscous solution. An oil phase is added to the viscous solution to prepare a conc. emulsion which is, in turn, diluted with water or an aqueous liquid. By this method, the stability of an O/W type emulsion is increased markedly and, even when the viscosity of a final emulsion is low, said emulsion has excellent stability. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
