PURPOSE: To obtain a resin suitable for lenses or the like in optical instruments, because of its high refractive index, light resistance, transparency and no odor when processed, by using a specific compound as a polymerizable monomer component. n CONSTITUTION: One or more compounds of formula I through formula III [A 1 , A 2 are formula IV to formula VIII (R 7 is H, methyl); R 1 through R 6 are H, 1-10C alkyl where one or more alkyls have a-S-bonds, β -CH 2 - bonds and -H bonds (α is 1 to 5; β is 1 to 10; α≤β); X, Y, Z are O, S; n, m are 0 to 4; p is 0, 1; q, r, t are 0 to 5] are used as essential components to effect polymerization using an initiator of peroxide or azo compound, or by irradiating with heat, light or electric beams whereby the subject resin of high refractive index. In addition to the essential components stated above, other polymerizable monomer components such as methyl (meth)acrylate, pentaerythritol tetrakis- thioglycolate may be employed. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
