abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a clay-like molding material excellent in handleability and workability by adding a water-soluble oxidizing agent to a liquid mixture before kneading it with a powdery material based on a starch powder, a PVA powder and a surfactant. n CONSTITUTION: A powdery material based on a starch powder, a PVA powder and a surfactant powder and optionally an inorganic filler (e.g. diatomaceous earth) is kneaded with a liquid mixture comprising water, a polyol, a plasticizer (e.g. liquid paraffin) and a polyvinyl acetate emulsion after a water-soluble oxidizing agent (e.g. hydrogen peroxide, chlorine oxide, an alkali peroxide, an alkali percarbonate or ozone) is added to the above liquid mixture.
