titleOfInvention | Production of optically active alpha-trifluoromethylcarboxylic acid |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound useful as an intermediate for drugs, agricultural chemicals, etc., in high optical purity by asymmetrically hydrolyzing an α-trifluoromethylcarboxylic acid ester derivative with a hydrolase. n CONSTITUTION: An α-trifluoromethylcarboxylic acid ester derivative shown by formula I (R 1 is 1-15C alkyl; R 2 is 1-10C alkyl or benzyl) is asymmetrically hydrolyzed with a hydrolase (usually lipase) to give the aimed compound shown by formula II (* is asymmetric carbon atom). The reaction is carried out preferably at 20-45°C generally for 1-300 hours. Hydrolysis ratio is preferably 10-30% in order to raise optical purity of the aimed compound. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
