titleOfInvention Production of cured isocyanurate resin
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject resin having improved heat-resistance and mechanical properties by using a specific alkoxyallene as a catalyst for the cyclization trimerization of an isocyanate group of an aromatic polyisocyanate compound to form a cured resin containing isocyanurate ring. n CONSTITUTION: The objective cured isocyanurate resin is produced by reacting an aromatic polyisocyanate compound (e.g. 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate) and, as necessary, an aromatic monoisocyanate compound (e.g. phenyl isocyanate) in the presence of 0.1-5wt.% (based on the sum of the isocyanate compounds) of an alkoxyallene of formula (R 1 to R 3 are H, aliphatic alkyl. etc.; R 4 is aliphatic or alicyclic alkyl) as a catalyst in a solvent (preferably dimethylformamide, etc.) at 40-100°C for 2-5hr, thereby performing the cyclization trimerization of the isocyanate. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
